I haven't blogged for so long, so thought I would put my two latest makes on here. The first is a house box. It is cinema themed and uses Grapuic 45 Curtain Call papers. Just love Graphic 45 papers! The second is my first attempt at a mannequin.

I found this old frame in a charity shop - 50p. Took it home and turned it into this. It was wood stained a dark green so I sanded it and then gave it a couple of coats of  white acrylic paint. I dabbed it on thickly with a piece of cut n' dry  which gave it a lovely textured finish. I then attacked with distress inks - Wild Honey, Broken China and a little bit of Brushed Corderoy. I then dabbed on a little gold acrylic paint. The flowers are made with Tim Holtz Coredinations and the centres are filled with gold/brown seed beads. Buttons and a chipboard bird finish off the frame. For the picture I created a background with the same distress inks and water. I inked round the edges with Vintage paper and Walnut stain to create a contrast to the frame. I then went wild with Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamps and Ideaology. Love it!

A bit late getting round to making and posting my entry for tags of 2012, but here it is. I really like the stamping and embossing technique. I must try it on other embossing folders. I didn't have this one so had to raid my daughter's stash again!

My first canvas

I spent some great time yesterday with my talented daughter Beth. She has recently done a create a canvas workshop with the brilliant Kaz Hall. at The Crafty Bunch. The workshop was full so couldn't go (boo hoo) but Beth taught me how to go about creating a canvas. I had great fun and I was able to raid her stash as well!

very first post!

Well this is my very first blog post! I am going to use this blog to record all my attempts at Tim Holtz inky kinds of things so it makes sense rhat the first thing I am showing is my entry into the 12 Tags of 2012. As a newbie to this kind of crafting my supply of stash is very limited so I have had to improvise, but the basic mosaic technique is there. If you are reading this please feel free to leave a comment. Whoops terrible piccie.  Will upload a better one.
